This Isn’t Consoling (2019)

The sound piece This Isn’t Consoling describes means of physically supporting a queer body. The body is in need of sealing and sheltering. Makeshift constructions out of kinesio tape and elastic bandages are offered to relate to Winnicott’s and Eve Sedgwick’s holding environment.

The installation, displaying sculpture with tape and rubber cord and text on gypsum plates, also suggests an understanding of support in social relations that would be informed by this physical practice.
